About us: Bangalore Bicycle Championships
Bangalore Bicycle Championships (BBCh) is India’s longest-running and most iconic amateur cycle racing platform. Established in 2009, BBCh was born from a simple but powerful idea: to bring people together to race, ride, and grow the sport of cycling. What began as a few passionate cyclists organizing friendly races around Bengaluru has evolved into a nationally recognized racing series that continues to define and inspire India’s amateur cycling community.
From its humble beginnings with Sunday rides to Nandi Hills, BBCh has grown into a structured, professionally executed race calendar that spans nearly the entire year. We now host ten races annually, covering a wide variety of formats including Individual Time Trials (ITT), Team Time Trials (TTT), Road Races, Criteriums, and Mountain Bike Cross-Country (XCO/XCE) events. Each race is carefully designed to offer a unique challenge—whether you’re a first-timer, a seasoned club racer, or an elite-level athlete.
At BBCh, our mission is to grow a competitive cycling culture in India by making racing accessible, inclusive, fair, and exciting. We believe that everyone—regardless of age, gender, or experience—should have a place to race and thrive. Our vision is to create a sustainable, community-driven platform where everyday riders, weekend warriors, and aspiring athletes can test their limits, sharpen their skills, and fall deeper in love with the sport of cycling.
What makes BBCh truly special is that it is entirely volunteer-run and non-profit. From race marshals, registration teams, medics, and media crews to the cyclists who help with logistics and planning—every event is powered by individuals who give their time, energy, and passion to keep the series alive. This deep sense of community ownership ensures that BBCh remains authentic, transparent, and focused on the riders.
We pride ourselves on upholding international standards in race design, safety, and sportsmanship, while staying rooted in the grassroots spirit that built this platform. Our events are conducted with full safety protocols, route markings, timing systems, and coordination with local authorities to ensure a smooth and secure experience for every participant. While we don’t offer prize money, the reward lies in the experience, the challenge, and the camaraderie.
Over the years, BBCh has become a launchpad for India’s top cycling talent. Many national champions and international racers began their journey with BBCh races, where they learned strategy, built endurance, and gained confidence. But beyond the podiums, the real success of BBCh lies in the thousands of riders who’ve discovered their potential and grown stronger with each race.
Riders from across India travel to Bengaluru to race on its scenic highways, gravel trails, and fast urban circuits. Whether you’re competing in a solo breakaway, drafting in a peloton, or cheering from the sidelines—every BBCh event is a celebration of the sport and the community behind it. The energy at the start line, the stories at the finish, and the friendships formed in between are what keep people coming back.
In today’s fast-evolving cycling landscape, BBCh continues to innovate. We are expanding into new formats like gravel racing and endurance events, building partnerships with cycling academies, brands, and local clubs, and investing in the development of youth and women riders. We are also exploring digital enhancements like live tracking, online leaderboards, and richer post-race analytics to make the experience even better.
Whether you’re a curious beginner, a competitive athlete, or someone who just loves riding on the weekends—BBCh is for you. Every race is a chance to push your boundaries, meet like-minded riders, and experience the joy of racing in a supportive and spirited environment.
Join us and become part of a movement that’s changing the face of Indian cycling—one race at a time.
